Devin has been on the greatest adventure with Woodlands Elite since 2012. After falling in love with this amazing sport in 2003, he’s been afforded the opportunity to see cheer through many lenses. Devin has coached at the collegiate level and judged & choreographed nationally and internationally. He’s also been in management for over 15 years. Each experience has made him love cheer even more. Outside of WE, he is a fighter for love, a husband and father of 2 boys. They definitely put the “P” in Purpose. That purpose is to make everyone he comes in contact with feel valued and encouraged. He will be your biggest cheerleader.

Sheryl has been a part of the Woodlands Elite Family for 9 years and is the the All Star Director at WE Katy. She has a passion for cheerleading and helping athletes realize their full potential. She believes, at Woodlands Elite we are not only coaching cheer, we are also giving athletes the tools to succeed in life! If you have an All Star question, she is ready to help! Sheryl is married and has three beautiful girls who have grown up cheering at Woodlands Elite. In her spare time she loves to spend time with family and enjoys traveling!

Justin has lived in Houston going on 8 years in September. He has coached for Woodlands Elite Cheer Company since January of 2015. He has been at the Katy Location since April of 2015. Justin has been a great addition to the staff and is a ray of sunshine. He’s so much fun to be around! He likes being outside hanging with family and friends. He LOVES food! Justin is a husband to a wonderful wife Taylor and has a beautiful 1 year old baby girl Tynslee. He loves having them by his side.

Mandy moved all over the world growing up and her love for gymnastics grew into a love for cheerleading. She brought home a State Championship title in Virginia, one of the few states that considers cheerleading a sport! Mandy followed her passion for cheerleading to Texas and she graduated with her undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, which is where she became a NCA Collegiate National Champion (Axe’m Jacks!)! Mandy worked for Universal Cheerleading Association (UCA) and had the honor of being on core staff, college staff, and privilege of traveling all over the world coaching cheerleading and competing for the USA, and all the while alongside great friends! Because of some of those great great friends and her passion for kids and cheerleading, Mandy began working at Woodlands Elite in 2010 and quickly fell in love with the “WE are family”! A few years later, Mandy accepted an assistant coaching position at Baylor University coaching Acrobatics and Tumbling and then went on to attend and graduate law school while doing choreography for cheer teams and judging (cheer comps of course!)! She couldn’t stay away from cheerleading and her second family for long, so she returned to Woodlands Elite and has been a team coach since 2018; she is a lawyer by day and coach by night doing what she loves with people she loves! Mandy LOVES working with kids/young adults and seeing them better themselves on and off the mat, and strives to instill in her athletes what cheer instilled in her because cheer is sooooo much more than “just” cheer (IYKYK!)!!!

Devan is a second year all star and recreational staffer at Woodlands Elite Katy. Born and raised in Katy, Tx Devan started her cheerleading journey at the age of eight years old. With 20 years of all star experience including WE Black Ops and Generals where she won two NCA titles, Devan continued cheering collegiate at Trinity Valley Community College where she won back to back national championship titles in 2016 and 2017. After finishing at TVCC, she transferred to Texas Tech University where she studied forensic psychology and started her love for coaching at Ultimate Cheer Lubbock for two years as well as cheering on their SIOC7 for three years. Her favorite thing about coaching is sharing the passion she has for this sport with her athletes. She also feels that she isn’t only teaching the athletes, but the athletes teach her. When you do not find her coaching, she enjoys hanging out with friends and going on walks!

Forrest McDaniel has been apart of the Woodlands Elite family since 2014. In his last season of being an athlete, he won the World Championship with our Black Ops. He is now at the Katy location and loves being a Allstar Cheerleading and Recreational tumbling coach. Coach Forrest loves to jump and considers that his favorite class to teach! Most of all being able to create a positive and memorable experience for the athletes is his favorite part of this sport.

Coach Thomas is a 2x Power tumbling national champion for levels 6 and 9, Top 5 level 10 open power tumbler and 2002 Trio (individuals) national champion! He was also a 2009 college champion at Navarro College, cheered at Sam Houston State University and the University of Central Arkansas. Coach Thomas has worked at Woodlands Elite Oak Ridge coaching tumbling, and at the Magnolia location helping the flyers program. He currently works at the Katy location coaching tumbling, stunting and all-star teams!

Iordan has been a part of the Woodlands Elite family since 2014. Because his parents were Olympic gymnasts and coaches, his love of gymnastics and tumbling began at a very early age. During his competitive years, Iordan became a national acrobatic champion and was awarded the title Master of Sport. After graduating college with a degree in physical education, he began his coaching career that took him to different parts of the world. He is fluent in 4 languages, enjoys grilling and all outdoor activities.

DeVante’ is an instructor at our Katy location going into his 4th year at WE! DeVante’ discovered his love for coaching and helping others in 2010 when he became a gymnastics power tumbling coach. From there he would graduate from Dickinson High School in 2011, and take his love of tumbling to cheer for the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) for the next 3 years. DeVante’ has been a passionate coach in the All-Star cheer industry for 12 years. DeVante’ has also cheered competitively for 3 years and competed in the cheerleading worlds in 2014! He has developed a true love for the sport, and looks forward to the challenge when teaching new skills! DeVante’s birthday is September 10th, and if there’s two things he loves as much as cheer, it’s chicken wings and his aussie, Oliver!

Johnny Phimphasone started his cheerleading career in 2003 and has been a part of various all-star cheer programs across the nation since then. He was the top All American Athlete for NCA in 2008 and performed for the half time show at the Hula bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. He has been teaching NCA cheer camps all over the nation for over 10 years, winning various awards such as Top Veteran instructor and Top Head instructor. Johnny has been coaching rec tumbling classes for over 12 years and has continued to build a solid foundation to what competitive cheerleading is all about.

Ryan joins Woodlands Elite from upstate New York, where he began his all star cheerleading and gymnastics journey at the age of 7. He continued to grow his love for cheerleading throughout high school, and eventually moved to Florida, where he attended the University of North Florida. Ryan pursued a degree in Healthcare Studies with a minor in Public Health, and cheered at the collegiate level for 6 years. During his time in Florida, Ryan was also a head instructor for the National Cheerleaders Association and began his all star coaching career. Ryan is passionate about transforming the lives of athletes through cheerleading and giving them a safe space to learn and grow. When Ryan is not in the gym he enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with his puppy.
