Raylyn Bartley, Activities Coordinator

Raylyn Bartley is the Activities Coordinator at our Katy location. She is a former cheerleader and has worked closely with competitive cheer for 2 years. She is currently attending Lonestar Community College pursuing a degree in Radiology. Raylyn welcomes any questions or concerns related to Woodlands Elite Katy. Her daughter also attends Woodlands Elite Katy and is on Mini Level 1. Raylyn loves to interact with the children as well as parents, and diligently works to know everyone by name. Her birthday is October 29th. She loves to snack on chocolate. Her favorite candy is Hershey’s Cookies ‘N’ Creme, but she welcomes chocolate of any kind.



Owen Cox, Operations Manager

Owen Cox is the Operations Manager at the Katy location with his wife Denise. Together they have three amazing children; Christoffer, Caitlynn and Callie. Owen began his athletics career as a competitive gymnast at eight years old, and continued for eight more years. Upon graduating Klein High School in 1991, he then joined the United States Marine Corps. Owen honorably served in the infantry reserve attaining the rank of sergeant, while attending Sam Houston State University. His military career spanned eleven years, Operation Enduring Freedom and countless life building experiences. Owen has a bachelor’s degree in Education and Applied Science specializing in Exercise Science.

On a whim one day in 1995, Owen ventured into a NCA supercenter cheerleading facility to “check it out”. He was immediately offered a job teaching tumbling classes, and was asked to help assist on the all-star team that worked out there. The rest we say is “history”, Owen fell in love with the sport and everything it teaches these young athletes in life. The fervor Owen started 19 years ago has continued to grow, and today is stronger than ever. Countless titles and banners have come and gone, but those special moments, and every child he has ever coached is what stays with him every day. His passion to help the parent’s most important thing in life; their children is what drives him to connect to his athletes and parents in such a way that brings out their best. His birthday is June 8th, love’s lemonade, and he is a BBQ aficionado. When Owen is not at the gym, he love’s to get outside and hike, bike and spend time with his family.


Denise Cox, Operations Manager

Denise Cox along with her husband, Owen Cox, is the Operations Manager at our Woodlands Elite Katy location. Together, they have three beautiful children.  Caitlynn and Callie share the love of this sport while Christoffer puts his heart into competitive gymnastics.

Denise has been coaching competitive cheerleading for 21 years.  She found her love for cheerleading in 8th grade as a Jr. High Cheerleader and never stopped since then. She had the honor to work summer camps with UCA for 1 year and NCA for 4 years.  She has competed in cheerleading at the High School and Collegiate level where she received her first personal UCA Collegiate National Championship title with Sam Houston State University.   Since then Denise has trained many to go home National Champions.  She knows what it feels like to take the title home and strives to help make each and every athlete she works with to feel that “feeling” of achievement!  Denise has a love and passion to teach every child to reach and accomplish their dreams, whatever that dream may be! 

Denise’s birthday is September 21st and LOVES drinking Advocare’s spark!  She loves getting outdoors with her family hiking, biking, or tubing the closest river. 


Kyle Ford, Recreational Director

Coaching plays a very important role in Kyle's life! He has 16 years of coaching experience and feels that if he can make an impact in just one child's life, he has made a difference! He loves watching their self-esteem and confidence grow with every challenge and with every achievement. Coach Kyle has a strong background coaching tumbling, competitive cheer, High School and Junior High cheer, competitive gymnastics, recreational gymnastics and preschool gymnastics. He is an incredibly talented and fun new addition to our Woodlands Elite Katy location!!


Sheryl Wyles, Instructor

Sheryl Wyles has spent her life immersed in the cheer world.  She cheered at Dulles High School and soon after graduating became a staff member for UCA.  Sheryl spent 5 summers traveling around Texas coaching and heading cheer camps for UCA.  In addition to being on UCA staff during her college days, Sheryl is a former TCU cheerleader.


After graduating from TCU Sheryl became a high school counselor and cheer coach at Kingwood High School.  During this time she also was a judge for American Cheer Power where she judged for 4 years. 


Sheryl was coaching all-star cheer before she joined Woodlands Elite in 2014.  She now coaches many of our teams at the Katy location.  Her favorite thing in the world is to build confidence in a child and watch them achieve their dreams! 


Sheryl’s birthday is March 28th.  She is married and has three girls who cheer for WE.  If you bring her chocolate she will be your best friend forever!


Chase Gaskins

Chase Gaskins joins our Katy location all the way  from Alabama! He currently has 10 years of coaching experience, with a background in All-Star Cheer, High School and Junior High Cheer, College Cheer, and tumbling. Chase started his collegiate cheerleading career at Shelton State Community College, winning the 2008 UCA College National Championship. He then transferred to The University of Alabama, cheering on the varsity co-ed squad for four years. At Alabama he also won the 2011 UCA College National Championship and earned a degree in Exercise Science/ Human Performance. Chase was also a part of UCA staff, instructing High School and College Camps. He is very excited about this opportunity to work at Woodlands Elite, and loves getting to know the kids and parents. Chase’s birthday is December 22nd.


Darrion Walker

Darrion is one of our most enthusiastic and fun loving coaches at our Oak Ridge location. He cheered at Memphis Elite in 2002, 2003, and 2004. That wasn’t the only thing he excelled in! He also participated in football, basketball, wrestling, lacrosse and track! He studied at Southwest Tennessee and University of Memphis. Darrion was a NCA Staff member for 6 years!


In his spare time he loves going to concerts, sporting events, and playing with his two puppies, Blanca and Athena. He loves ice cream, but does NOT like roller coasters! Darrion’s birthday is May 26th, but don’t try and take him to Six Flags.


Justin Castleberry, Instructor

Justin is originally from Mansfield, Arkansas, where he cheered at Mansfield High School for four years. His team won the State Championship his sophomore, junior and senior year in the Small Coed Division. Throughout this time he was also involved with All-Star Cheer. He helped coach and competed with River Valley Elite on their Level 4 Large Coed team for three years. Justin has also won numerous Grand Championships. He eventually went on to help open Statik Fuzion. He was their Head Tumbling Instructor also coached All-Star. Justin won five National Titles in the Level 1 and 2 Divisions while coaching at Statik. He’s been coaching cheer and tumbling for 11 years now! He has a broad range of tumbling expertise from Beginner, to Layouts and Fulls. He brings a lot of energy and positivity to Woodlands Elite! Coaching is Justin’s passion and he loves kids. Outside of cheer Justin loves to go to church and eat spaghetti! He loves cheer, Reeces candy and football!



Thomas Manney

Coach Thomas started out as a power tumbler and was a 2x Power Tumbling National Champion in Levels 6 and 9. He was also in the Top 5 for Level 10 Open Power Tumbling and in 2002 he was crowned Trio (individuals) National Champion! In 2009 he won NCA College Nationals with Navarro College. Coach Thomas also cheered at Sam Houston State University and the University of Central Arkansas. He was worked at Woodlands Elite Oak Ridge in the past coaching tumbling and at the Magnolia location helping the flyers program. For the last three years, Coach Thomas has been coaching at Adrenaline and was Flyer Program Coordinator. He is excited to be reunited with his Woodlands Elite FAMILY!



Jose Cepeda

Coach Jose cheered for four years, two years in all-star and one of which on Woodlands Elite Commanders in 2014-2015. He also cheered in college from 2013-2014 at Ottawa University in Kansas and competed at NCA College Nationals. Coach Jose has been coaching tumbling for seven years now and all-star for five years! His favorite quote is “Success isn't always about greatness. It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.” -Dwayne Johnson



Iordan Batchvarov, Instructor

Iordan Batchvarov was born in Bulgaria and started gymnastics at the age 6. Gymnastics and tumbling are in his blood-both of his parents were gymnasts and Olympic coaches. At the end of his competitive career, Iordan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. He is fluent in 4 languages and has taught all levels of gymnastics and tumbling in the Katy area since 1997. He enjoys outdoor activities and travelling. Iordan loves Mexican food but has never eaten at Taco Bell!


Regina Ingram, Instructor

Regina Ingram coaches Basic Training at the WE Katy Location. She is a Houston native who attended and graduated from the University of Houston in 2006 (Go Coogs!) and obtained her Master’s Degree in Education in 2012. Regina has a wonderful husband of 10 years and 3 amazing children Cameron, Jackson, and Scouts’ own Leila. Regina began her career as a teacher in Dallas. She currently serves as a Digital Learning Specialist for Fort Bend ISD. Before moving back to the Houston area, Regina coached all-star for 5 years in Dallas, Texas. She loves children and considers it an honor to work with the families at Woodlands Elite Katy. Regina's favorite season is Spring; mainly because she gets to celebrate her birthday on March 22 and eat all Snickers Bites she can.


Ed Royall, Partner

Ed started his cheer journey at TVCC. He went on to Lamar University, which took him into restaurant management of the Black-eyed Pea restaurant for 10 years. During this stage of his life, he still found time for tumbling, judging, and made time to work with teams! Finally, Ed made cheer his career in 1997 and never looked back. He moved to Houston and started at All- American Cheer. A few years later, he was involved in the process to start WECC. The rest is history! As Owner/Partner, Ed has had the privilege to work with all levels and was fortunate enough to win titles in each one. Now he’s excited to work with Basic Training, which is a great feeder for our all-star program. He is USASF certified in all areas! Ed’s favorite colors are red, black, and white. He has been coaching for over 20 years. His favorite foods are pot roast, and chicken and dumplings! He also loves Snickers and Sour Cherries. Ed’s hobbies are shopping, and collecting watches. His birthday is November 6th.


Brian Barnhart, Partner

Brian is currently an Owner/Partner of Woodlands Elite Cheer Company and is an active member of Woodlands Church!  He serves in many different capacities within the United States Allstar Federation (USASF) and is currently an Executive Committee Member for the National Allstar Cheerleading Coaches Congress (NACCC).  Brian will tell you that his crowning achievements were surrendering his life to Christ in 1985, marrying his wife Kristen in 2005, having their daughter Presleigh in 2008 and son Beckham in 2014.  The Montgomery County Commissioner’s Court appointed Brian Barnhart to the Child Welfare Board in September 2010 and his passion to improve the lives of children within our community has become a lifestyle!  Brian was born February 14th and survives on Pappasitos, Chuy's, Milk Duds, Peanut Brittle & Reeses Peanut Butter Cups!  Action Movies, Water Sports, Snow Skiing and the NEWLY found Skydiving have become his extra curricular outlet!

Dana McBee, Office & Accounting Manager

Dana McBee has been a part of the Woodlands Elite Family since 2001. She has loved seeing the continued growth/expansion since the beginning when she, at one point, ran the front desk! Dana has worked in Administrative/Accounting Management for over 16 years! She was born in Austin, and grew up in Kingwood, Texas! Dana considers her biggest accomplishment to be working daily with "cheer moms" and getting through Regional cheer season. She resides in Spring, TX and recently married her long time boyfriend of 12 years.  She has one dog, Sadie and is now, one day planning to have children of her own... but we will see! Ms. Dana loves Stacy's pita chips, pretzels with peanut butter and large Diet Cokes!


Kevin Tonner, All-Star Director

Kevin is our All-Star Director for all 5 Woodlands Elite locations. His cheer career started in 1999. He was recruited onto his high school competition team and the rest is history. He was a Varsity Cheerleader for Kempner High School and graduated in 2000. Kevin attended Houston Baptist University, where he cheered for one year! From there he attended online college at Kaplan University and received an Associate’s Degree in Business Management. He started coaching at South West Cheer Academy, “Storm”, in 1999 and continued until 2001. Kevin has coached at Woodlands Elite since 2001! He’s coached every age of all-star Cheer from Tiny Level 1, all the way to International Coed Level 5! He’s also coached and choreographed MANY National Championship teams at all levels. He won 2 Bronze Globes at the World Championships with Generals (2009 & 2012). One of his proudest moments has been taking the first EVER Houston Level 5 NCA Championship title, winning the 2013 Small Senior division at NCA out of the 30 best teams in the country and then doing it again in 2014 and AGAIN in 2015! Back-to-back-to-back champions!! He didn't stop there though. Generals also earned a World Champion Title in the Small Senior division in 2015. Woodlands Elite's FIRST EVER! Kevin’s goal is to continue to grow our program to be one of the best, if not THE BEST, all-star cheer gym in the world!


Outside of cheerleading, Kevin’s hobbies include exercising and working out regularly and playing golf whenever he gets a chance. He also enjoys wakeboarding, water sports, and watching all kinds of movies. His birthday is July 24th and he loves steak and shrimp. His favorite candies are Peanut M&Ms and gum!


Jessica Marshall, All-Star Director

In 2008 Jessica graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and Advertising at the University of Oklahoma, where she cheered for the All Girl Team 2003-2008. She has been a UCA Head Instructor, Core Staffer and College Staffer. She was also part of their international staff where she traveled to Singapore, Scotland, Australia, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Tokyo. She has been coaching all-star cheer for 11 years. This sport is not only her career, but her passion! She won the ICU worlds with Team USA All Girl in 2010. Coach Jessica carried the first ever Medium Coed 5 team, Black Ops, at WECC to an 8th place title at worlds! Her favorite foods are Mexican food and seafood! Jessica’s birthday is August 20th.


Jasmine Arnold, School & Camp Director

Coach Jasmine started her cheer career when she was seven years old in her hometown of Lewisville, Texas. After many years in peewee cheerleading, she dedicated six years to all-star cheerleading at Cougar Cheer and Dance Company in Carrolton Texas. In 2006, Coach Jasmine made one of the BEST junior college programs in Texas, known as Navarro College. She earned two Collegiate NCA National titles, was captain for three years and graduated with an Associates Degree in Arts in Education. In 2009 Coach Jasmine transferred to Texas Tech University and was game day and leadership captain until 2012. Jasmine graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communications. During her time at Texas Tech she was on the all girl team for Team USA and won gold in 2011. She became the University of Houston Cheer Coach in 2012 and will now be back at Woodlands Elite as our new School & Camp Director. She is SUPER excited to be back and ready to help turn our kids into great tumblers, flyers and incredible young adults. Her birthday is June 11th and her favorite color is yellow. Coach Jasmine also loves street tacos!


Ashley Henricks, Communications Coordinator

Ashley began cheering at 12 years old on her middle school cheer team in her home town of Columbus, Ohio. Cheering through middle school and high school for seven years, Ashley then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she graduated with a degree in Art &  Graphic Design and a Minor in Communications. She began coaching all-star cheerleading the first year she moved to Charlotte in 2009 with Charlotte Extreme Cheerleading. Ashley Coached in Charlotte for 7 years and worked with all-star teams, tumbling classes, stretch classes, school camps and clinics, private lessons, and other specialized classes! She ended her time in Charlotte as the All-star Director of her program! She coached many of her teams to National Championships including two back-to-back Cheersport National Championships in 2013 and 2014. She loves meeting new athletes and parents and working with every skill level and age division! Ashley's birthday is October 6th, she loves Gummy Bears and Hot Tamales, and is a firm believer that Coke is always better than Pepsi
